Hey everyone, I started a closet grow couple weeks ago four different autoflowers from RQS, 2 Royal Runtz Auto, 1 Cookies Gelato Auto, 1 Purp Punch Auto. I've having trouble with the pH of my growing medium, I'm using 50% Coco 50% soil. Testing high alkalinity around 7.5-8.0, My seedlings are on 3rd node so I will soon start to slowly introduce Advanced Nutrients pH perfect Micro, Grow, Bloom through watering. My water is testing pH around 6.0 (before watering) & runoff testing a pH around 7.5. Does anyone know if the pH perfect nutrients will neutralize the pH of the growing medium over a little time? If so, how long? Thanks ahead of time to anyone that can help appreciate you.... JAY

If they are that small and only on 3rd nodes then I say remove them from your mix and put them in straight soil or straight coco but not a mix of the 2. If it’s your first grow just do soil and don’t worry about the ph just take the water from the tap and water the plants or let it sit out so it gets up to room temp them water the plants with it. If you do straight coco then you need to worry about the ph and all that jazz so just easier to do soil for your first one

I want to say when I used the AN Coco Connoisseur 2 part it would bring up pH for my RO water and keep the medium around 5.8-5.9 pH in coco/perlite 70/30 until my next watering.

I don't know if your using tap water but tap/well water can be very high in calcium carbonate (pH up) and silicates (pH UP) which would cause a higher pH in your medium over time as you continue to water.

If the plants look okay then it should be fine, runoff pH has had me chasing my tail before in the past. Maybe look into slurry tests or a soil pH meter. Personally I just scoop around 1 ounce of coco out of a pot, digging a couple inches down into the pot, mix that into 1 oz of water and wait a couple minutes, strain out the sediment and test the strained water with pH drops. This is the cheapest easiest way to do it without expensive meters, batteries, calibration solutions and all that jazz.

If you use the "pH Perfect" by AN you might want to look into a RO filtration system because I know for certain it works with RO filtered water.
