Photoperiod Question

I was wondering if someone with experience could chime in. I'm coming from an autoflower background. Anyway, I flipped to 12/12 4 days ago. I haven't noticed any pistol hairs or flower development. Is this normal? Indoor environment with 0 light leaks.

It can take anywhere from 4-5 days up to a few weeks before you will notice signs of flowering beginning. It depends heavily on the genetics, and the maturity of the plant. An immature plant can take weeks to begin flowering.

Your environment can also affect things. Cold conditions can slow down the growth processes of the plant for example. I had completely mature clones that normally would take 5ish days to show flowers take 3 weeks because of a cold snap one winter. After I fixed the temps the plants finished completely normally just delayed by 3 weeks.

How long did your plant(s) veg for before you flipped to 12/12?

Do you know what strain it is or whether it’s supposed to be more indica or sativa dominant?

Yeah 4-5 days is typical for a reasonably heathy plant. I recently flipped a sick photo (long story involving happy frog soil) that sucker took 10 days to start. She since recovered and fine now yet stunted. Popped an auto to help take up the slack.

Sorry for being absent to my own post. The problem or lack there of is resolved. Seeing pistol hair now. I guess they just needed more time. It's interesting to hear that different strains can have a longer period before showing signs. Thankyou to all who responded.
