(pics) Bright green/yellow young leaves and yellowing/drooping older

Hey, got a clone from a friend that rooted well and i've had growing for about 3 weeks now in a hydro setup with a 400watt HPS light, it seems to be going pretty well apart from a few probs.

The newer leaves are quite bright green even yellowish towards the tips and outsides and some of the older ones are getting a few yellow blotches too.

Up until about 4 days ago i was using rather low nute levels (16 EC) with my tap water already having a level of 6 which i have upped to 20-22 hoping it will change things, i give it 5 mins of water every 4 hours at the moment.

I've also noticed some purple traveling up the stem which i assumed was just the strain and one of the original leaves it had since cut have started to hook a little down.

Also been keeping PH around 5.9-6.5.

For the stem its prbobaly just the strain. Also that looks like phosphorous deficiency.

I agree it could be the strain with the purple stem(s), but that could also be a sign of (P) deficiency. Did this always show purple or did it come on when your leaves started getting light?

Good question, its always been there to a degree, wasnt on the original clone cutting tho but even the spare clone i have out at the moment with no leaf issues is starting to get that so i assume its the strain and just took awhile to develop.

It seems to slowly spread up in spots to new growth which is green then takes it over or leaves a stripe.

I think my problems might be from overwatering, moving from 4 hours/5mins to 6 hours/5mins.

Does it seem to be more purplish or redish? Often its so hard to tell details like this from a pic because of lighting differences. More red would lead me to think (p) problem more purple genetic based. Ill look in keep us posted on what happens.
