PL-55's or Reg T-5's....

Hi guys,

I am starting a 2' x 2' x 5' closet grow and am poking around some ideas about lighting. Ventilation is going to be an issue, so in order to minimize heat I am going with florescent lighting. I have been checking out HTG and they have a 2' x 2' Tek PL-55 setup that they claim puts out 20,000 lumens with 4 bulbs. This is more than twice that of normal floros of that size.

The issue I am having is the way that my closet is structured. A central beam is what I will be mounting the light from, and while the closet is about 24" wide. The beam is only 10.5" away from the wall. This means that I am going to have an issue mounting a 24" unit and getting it to fit.

I'm not sure if I will be able to bend the brackets/adjust the fixture, or whatever to get it to fit or not. Returns are not really an option, I have to get this right the first time, which is why I need your help.

Is the PL-55's really worth it?
Will I get a good enough yeild with normal T-5's?
Does anyone have this: PL-55 Fixture?
Will I be able to twist it and make it fit?
Should I vote democrat or republican?
Can you cut up my vegetables while you are at it?

Not trying to sound too needy but I plan on making this purchase tomorrow and just want to get it right.

Thanks for the help guys!

The PL-55's are putting off the same number of lumens per watt at the T5, they are just half the length due to being doubled over (a 4' 54w T5 tube can put out 5k lumens). Might consider price of replacement bulbs and spectrums available - only difference.

You can get a good yield with T5s or the PL-55's (these are just t5's that have been doubled over).

Mounting is your issue but can be done.

Fiscally conservative socially liberal.
