Planning 2 site rdwc and need help from the experienced

My space is limited and keeping things legal only allows 2 mature plants so I'm working on a 2 site rdwc. I ordered some 4 gallon square buckets and lids and now I'm looking at them I am worried they will be too small. My plan is to use Advanced Nutrients Ph Perfect nutes but I am worried with 4 gallon buckets it might be hard to maintain ph levels with such a small amount of water in the system. I figure I will have 8-9 gallons max. Will the ph swings kill me or will the nutes keep it in check. Thanks for any advice.

add a 3rd, larger tote as your control res outside the grow area if possible.

just remember, what ever water level is in your control will be the same as your other 2 res.

if you want to do it your way, you'd be better off with stand-alone dwc buckets.

I could do like a 15 gallon tote for control if that would help. That could bring my volume up around 16-17 gallons. Or would I be better off to switch all 3 out for 8 gallon EZ Stor Buckets. I would expect that bring me to 18-20 gallons in the system. I really want to keep it rdwc but I dont want to waste nutes either.

The advanced nutes ph perfect will keep your solution stable. I use to use it but now just using what I got left over to get rid of it. Great at doing what it says it does but be aware the ph that it stabilizes at is dependent on the strength of your solution. You may need to up or lower ph if using lower levels, which you should be. Once you have the ph set though it should be perfect. It kept the solution in my tiny cloner stable for multiple weeks.

Thats good to know as it will be my first run with it. Also my first hydro run so I will still be keeping a close eye on ph and tds until I'm comfortable with it.

i built mine with 3 27gal totes. 2 plants per tote and the control. the more volume of water, the more stable your pH will be.

if you are limited by plant count ( i am too), grow BIG plants to make up for it.

and jypsy dog it right, it's not complicated but you do need to do 3 things: feed lightly, keep pH in range and keep root rot away.

Unfortunately I don't have the space to grow big...yet.
