Most store bought dirt already has nutrients in the soil, however you can buy some without any.
Some dirt I have bought actually has too many nutes so my seedlings get a bit of a nute burn at the beginning. Plants after growing will end up using all the nutes and will require more after a while.

I was at Lowe's the other day and there was like 30 different types of dirt to choose from!
Organic, time released nutrients, moisture control, good drainage, w/ muchroom compost, w/ extra perlite, w/ vermiculite, etc., etc., etc.
Kind of out of control.

Just get a seed starting potting mix and another bag of cheap dirt. Then maybe pick up some all around nutes like a 20-20-20.
Start seeds in potting mix and when they get past 2 weeks or so, transplant them into the regular dirt and start feeding them. 1/4 strength at first then work your way up to full strength after 3-4 weeks.

You don't need to add nutes yet but you could jump start them with some dilluted solution.
When they get about twice that size I would go ahead and add full strength. I used to feed every other watering but my plants would get the occasional nute burn so now I...
Feed, Water, Water, Feed
And when you water, give it a good watering! Don't flood the container but make sure all the dirt in there get's nice and moist. Holes in the bottom are there to help prevent over watering.
