plant variety question

hello, i am new to this site and i am going to begin growing a couple of plants in a hydro system and i have a question. i was thinking about using multiple strains. can one have an adverse affect on the other? i like variety and i also have some seeds from mids that i was thinking of growing alongside with some white widow as a comparison bud. is that a bad thing? should i not do that? this is about the only question that i came up with that did not have a related thread about it.

there are a few things to take into consideration. finish times, heights, and amounts of nutes needed. strains very in these areas.
