Plant vigor and yield: re-vegged clones vs clones vs seeds?

I recently harvested 4 plants and the best yield is from the clone and from-seed plant.

The two that had been clones taken from flowering plans (had to re-veg) turned out to have abysmal yields.

Perhaps this is a pattern or a one-off?

Can any old timers comment as to whether the re-vegged clones are normally less vigorous and productive like this????

Secondly, which is best for yield and vigor either clone or seed?

Do clones truly loose vigor over time?

The only vigor you lose is if you don’t mother the plant back to a healthy plant
A clone is an exact replica of original
If you flower a weak plant it appears less vigorous
Edit
It doesn’t take an old head to know this ;-)

If you take a clone off of a flowering plant you have to let it completely revert back to the vegetative stage before flowering. If you don't you can have subpar results. If you decide that you want to keep a plant once it's started flowering and take clones, it's best to reveg those clones and then when they are large enough take cuttings off of those and use those for flowering.

If you do flower the clone taken in flower then you want to veg it long enough to where it is growing normally again which could take a couple of months.
