Planting just one plant

Hello!

I've been wanting to grow just one little symbolic illegal plant in my house, just for the fun of it. I'm not talking about necessarily a very productive growth, so the setup should be simple. I know that it's probably not so efficient compared to the investment in lighting etc. I see this as a fun project and a way to learn about the process. If i succeed, i'll celebrate it with a joint

What i'm curious about, is the effect and type of the lamp (Read: not ideally). Would a 40W/60W regular halogen lamp work, or is fluorescent better? Is it very important with the amount of lighting? I live in Norway, and there is not so much sunlight this time of year, and outside temperature is about +/- 5°C, but i keep it about 20°C inside. And the most important question, the odor. How is it like in a active plant? I don't want the whole house to smell like weed, and i'm not planning on containing the plant in a restricted facility

Hello hulk, first off, stay away from halogen they are off limits. The best light is metal halide for veg, and high pressure sodium for flowering, both of these are considered HID (high intensity discharge), although it seems for your needs/wants floros would be best. There are many to choose from, but CFLs (compact florescent lights) are probably the most inexpensive, and likely the easiest to find.

As far as odor, the plant will stink when it is in flowering, the best way to remove the smell is to filter it with a carbon filter, but there are also things like ONA gel and sprays you can get.
