Plants per pot - how do "they" know?

We are growing a WEED that normally would be in a field - all together.
Outside I have ALWAYS planted 2-3 per 5 gallon bucket. Excellent yield.
So...now inside ....everyone seems to be intensely against putting 2 in a bucket.
Now...I have space concern, I am home every day so watching watering and nutes
is no problem.
Advice?....I have read and read....
I feel at this point that the MAJOR issue is treating each plant as an individual.
Agreed that this could be difficult of in the same pot......
PS I am into LST and all the ladies are trained into a wreath shape.
Merci.

Outdoors plants in the wild will either be dominant and nudge out weaker competitors or suffer from overcrowding. Another issue with outdoors is that the available space to search for nutrients is much vaster and somewhat unrestricted. This is even a problem with growing single plants in pots and it is severely compounded by putting more than one plant per container. Can you? But of course. There are many examples of folks grow monster plants in tiny containers but it is not recommended for either inexperienced growers or sane people as it takes ubelievable knowledge and diligence to do so. Plants grown together will not only have different needs but will actively compete for the limited space. Remember you don't have to let the plant get huge just because you have a larger pot. Good Luck and Happy Growing. :weed:

the problem with 2 plants are as follows:
Roots battling each other untill one or both dies
One needing more nutes while the other doesnt (which one do you make happy)
If one herms and you pull up the plant it can disrupt the other plants roots causing it to herm or die.

I would just suggest using separate pots, it makes things easier. In the end the choice is yours. Also if space is an issue, use coco coir so you can use MUCH smaller pots and still get big plants.
