Plants wilting

Hi All,

My plants are looking very wilted at the end of their 18 hour light cycle. I am using a 400WATT Enhanced Spectrum HPS light with 4 different strains. Temperatures are around 76F lights off and 85-90 Lights on. Plants are about 18 inches from the light. I am currently only using a passive intake system. I have a 6'' Duct fan pulling air across my cool tube and out of the box.

Both my Blue Cheese and Blue Mystic's are looking great when the lights go on, and even about 10 hours into the cycle. But when I wakeup in the morning, they do not look happy. Somewhat wilted.. but not HORRIBLE. After the 6 hours of darkness they perk right up again. Seems like heat stress.. but 89/90 isnt too hot is it? Humidity is 40/50 (i have a humidifer in there.. dry area).

Any thoughts appreciated.

The heat probably isn't helping, ideally you want to aim for around 76 degrees - but what you're describing is perfectly normal. When the plants "wake up" at the beginning of their light cycle, or soon into it, they start out pretty perky - just like us. But as the day winds down towards nighttime (lights out) they start to look tired, they've been working (growing) all day - and get a bit droopy. No worries.

Thanks for the replies. The cooltube is not completely separated from the box. I am sort of cheating and using it as my exhaust. Is that alright? I clean it every other day. I just hooked up a 6 inch fan to a whole I cut in the top (only place, I know down low is better) that is now blowing air in the box. Maybe that will help?

I felt about 2 inches down in the soil (two gallon pots) and I did feel moisture, but the soil still just fell apart. I will try keeping the watering up a bit.. I am just afraid to over water.
