Yeah it isn't that big of a deal but the ideal way is to point the tap root up when planting because it makes a U-turn and grows down then when your seed pops dirt it discards the shell. I don't pay to much attention just germ the beans and try to get them tap root up. If you don't it isn't going to die on you. Just make sure you don't plant them to far down and handle them as gently as possible, the tap root can be damaged very easy!

you can plant them taproot up or down. ive done both. generally i try to put them taproot down but if it slips out of my fingers and the taproot is up or sideways i just leave it as i dont wanna damage the taproot. it'll still make its way above soil. it can turn itself around just so you know so dont be concerned with how you plant it.

just dont plant it too deep or it wont survive. also be careful to not touch the actual taproot coming out of the seed. it can die very easily if you disturb it.

Nature intended for the taproot to face upwards, if you do it pointing down it expends extra energy correcting that. And 1/4 inch max under the dirt

Hey brotha man I was responding to your post before I realized who was aksing! LOL I can't get that picture to size up! Sorry bro basicly tap root up and you are fine. I don't really worry about it to much I just toss them in and don't over water them and I have never had a problem.

i drop them any which way; up, down, sideways. the little buggers always seem to find their way out of the soil, as long as you don't plant them too deep!
