alrite i started a few plants like 2 weeks ago in this ghetto grow room i built in my closet but anyways i got an eight plant ebb and flow system with a 400watt hps about 14 in away is that to close to the plant. it has a 4in dayton blower on it pumping air out but its still kinda hot it gets anywhere from 77 when im pumping the ac in the room but i try not to let it get above 85 the humidity is always between 40-50 at first i overdosed the plants with nutes. ok and now on to the questions is my light to close, my leafs are turning yellow and dieing on the ends and they are getting brown wierd spots. are the clay balls a better medium then perilite or whatever and how would i go about changing it from perilite to the clay balls u should of saw the plant on the end befor my damn dog ate it well if anyone can help me please do

Pebb;es are better for aero or hydro.Dont use a 400 watt light until plants are at least 2 weeks with good root formation and sounds like nute burn whats your ppm count and ph balance?

Id say looks like nutrient burns.Watch your ppm measurments and keep ph around 5.8-6.Hydroton pebbles will be easier to use but might be hard to change depending on root age and mass.Did you use rockwool cubes? You might be able to pull the cubes out dump the mix and add pebbles and reseat cubes then fill over with more pebbles. You flooding 3 times a day correct?

3 times a day for a fllod and drain at about 15 minute cycles is about standard although I have heard every 6 hours making it 4 times is also a good way to go but 3 is minimum.Id definatly get the pebbles if your doing the ebb and flow flood drain way though. The mix you got now would be ok from drip irrigation but isnt made for the ebb and flow flood drain technique.

Yes. dont know if you used rockwool cubes to start or not but process is similar. You want to carefully remove the plant from the container gently letting loose material fall away. Then with a neutral balance pail of water at room temp rinse the roots sytem carefully of the material.Youll next make sure the pot has about 1 inch up to half the pot filled with pebbles.Place the roots into the center of the container and cover them with more pebbles up to the main stalk til its supported.Make sure you dilute your res to about quarter strength for about a week then you can increase to normal if no side effects show from transplant. Speed and gently cleaning are important.Dont keep out to long and dont be to rough or shock can set in.

hmm not sure what those are.Are they like peat pellets? Id try to wash as much as possible that is loose then put into the pebbles as to keep excess debris out of your pump

If you can, invest in some superthrive. It's a vitamin product from the US that helps plants recover from stress such as your girlies are gonna get when you rip 'em out of that mix. Could be the difference!

i transplanted the two but im scared to do the plant thats growing good the stuff im using isnt for an ebb and flow or what why cant i use it
