if there of the same age, you maybe get pre flowers seeded.
if the females are in full flower mode, the male will seed them for sure.
if you have males, i would get rid of them b4 any fertilization can happen
what stage are your females at and why are you keeping ,male plants in the same area?
any pix would help too

The thing is i was thinking of planting 5 regular seeds and plucking the male as soon as i figure out their sex

You'll have enough time to identify the males before your girls are in any danger of getting preggers, no worries! In fact, you should start looking closely at their preflowers now and try to guess which ones will end up males just for fun-there are tons of preflower pics online.

If they're the same strain keep a close eye on the tallest plants. Males are usually taller sooner as they need to disperse pollen that will land on the females. But as has been mentioned already, you'll have more than enough time to identify and remove them.
