PM is Unstoppable WTF

I spray neem oil 2-3 times a week for mites and PM and also spray Serenade 1-2 times a week, if I miss a spray I will find little spots of it. So far I only find it appearing on my 3 purple snow cap, my sour flower has not gotten it once (knock on wood). I am thinking it could be weak against combatting PM... These 3 clones were the few survivors of a PM outbreak once again only effecting this one strain, I had other strains with it and they didnt even get it.. any help or ideas +rep:wall:

Dude, sounds like you got it bad. I use the neem oil but I mix it with the pro-tekt instead of soap.
I got this Platinum Bubba cut that was so infested with the shit, spread through both my tents. Spray that mix every 10 days and have not seen anything in months.

If you are in a PM prone area, like I am in the Midwest, you will find that some plants pick it up faster than others. Just like some plants are tastier to mites than others. You should do some research and find some strains that are PM resistant. My buddy got it in his room real bad and was spraying like mad also. He had about 75% of his plants that contracted it, and the others were okay. In his next round he got the same clones that did not contract the PM. I do the same thing also. I have kept track of which plants are resistant and which aren't and won't grow the ones that had problems again.

Some of the ones that I have had that DO NOT contract PM no matter how bad it got around them are Grand Daddy Purps, these wicked Free Leonards I have (Butterscotch Hawaiian x G13,) and my Apollos held out against it pretty strong. I had some spots, but nothing too bad and it would go away after I sprayed for awhile. The Free Leonard is resistant to about everything as far as I have seen. It has been surrounded by infected plants at times and I've never had any problems with it. I was thinking of growing it again, so I tested it and stopped treating it with Neem Oil and Serenade early and it has not contracted bugs or PM and is about to finish now.

When I start seeds I rogue out anything that shows PM early. I started my Jack Herer and Sour OG and had 2 of the Sour OG that showed spots early and I just chopped them and tossed them. I won't grow anything that shows susceptibility anymore. I don't have time to be going spray crazy on 48 plants every 3 days, lol.

Ultimately PM prevention comes from good genetics, good spray regimens, and ultimately environment. The most successful farmer is the one that uses good air filters, has lots of air circulation and movement, can tweak the air temps to get them out of range of PM susceptibility, and keep humidity at recommended levels. Oh and cleanliness. Did I say yet that cleanliness is godliness?

I have seen the dreaded pm a couple times in my day and I've found the best preventative is a sulfur burner. I use mine every 4 weeks as a preventative and never see the stuff. Spray's work on the plants but don't fill the room therefore they don't take care of all of the spores and the pm will return...

here's my program: if there is a pm outbreak the first thing I do is a spray with some stuff called greencure. I do this when the lights are off and I wait an hour or two after they go off to let the plants cool down, then I soak them top to bottom. 3 days later I fire up my sulfur burner, again I wait a couple hours after the lights go off then fire it up for 4 hours (my area is 10x10x7), then I unplug the burner and let the room stew for a couple hours before turning on my ventilation and fans. the dark period would be like this - 2 hours with lights off and fan's/ventilation on - 4 hours with sulfur burner on and fan's/ventilation off - 2 hours everything off - 4 hours fan's/ventilation on. Use this up to the 4th week in flowering. It's very important to clean all surfaces whenever you have the chance to.

one thing I'd be careful of is using a sulfur burner within a couple weeks of spraying you plants with neem oil.

I've used this program in veg and bloom and it works. It's also og.

Good info SVT. I've seen many people say that a Sulfur burner is the way to go, but no one actually explains how they do it.

Does Greencure actually "cure" the plant of PM or will it just take care of the symptoms?

Greencure is potassium bicarbonate and it will kill the visible spores. Unfortunately PM is in the plant not just on the plant. It's a disease, so you're really only treating the symptoms. If you want to treat the plant you need to use a systemic formula such as eagle 20 (nasty stuff, not og, but it works). I would only use this on my mother plants if they had an infection.

Neem oil doesnt work in my experiences. PM showed up a couple days after i sprayed with it. Use greencure and keep the rh lower than 50

Greencure barely takes care of symptoms as it is not a contact killer... it works by raising the surface pH of plant tissue, as mold spores cannot germinate at the higher pH. Once the leaf tissue begins to grow, or buds stack, the newly developed plant matter is without the layer of sodium bicarb, so it is not 'treated', and new mold spores can germinate.

You really do need a contact killer. You can buy chlorothalonil at any local nursery, as it will kill what you spray, but you have to douse the plants... stems, leaves, tops & bottoms.

Eagle 20, if you can purchase it, should be used with gloves, full clothing, goggles, respirators & be cautious of return entry intervals... toxic/carcinogenic shit. Be careful with this stuff.

And, and, and... try dropping your RH to under 50... day & night. And keep your temps above 80... day & night.

I have found that foliar feeding once a week with a compost tea has eliminated ALL spore related problems. I have been told that it invites GOOD bacteria to live on the surfaces and crowds out the bad stuff. Sounds funny but it works for me

I had a terrible pm problem. Neem was the only thing that worked. Been pm free over a year now. Good ventilation helps.
