Pollinated females

By when in the flowering cycle can you tell if your female plant has been pollinated? i may have detected the male too late and im worried that my females may have been pollinated.

Well straw is completely wrong so don't listen to him. If females drop pollen sacks it's a hermy, doesn't mean it's pollinated. Pollinated means that the female pistols received male pollen.

Pollinated pistols start to shrivel up and die one by one. That is a pretty good indication they've been pollinated. Since the pistols are no longer needed, they shrivel and die. You will then start to notice the calyx on each get swollen and eventually pop open a bit where you'll see a nice bean sitting inside.

Unless you didn't want to pollinate, then it'll be a horrible bean. haha...

Potberto makes some very good points.

You said you detected the male too late. Need more information.

A flowering male is unmistakable because a pollen burst is very noticeable. If this has happened, your ladies are at risk.

However, if you noticed the unopened male pods only and see no yellow pollen spilled out on its leaves, you might be okay.

Get rid of it ASAP.

i had three male and three fems. spotted two mles early and caught one a lil late the fem that was on the side of it turn herm or was pollinated it strted producing balls. my pistols did not die they just slowed down producing bud. and it took me one week to see this happen this is going through it not reading about it.

if ur not too late( and i'm not sure just how far into the cycle u can go, theres a product called 'dutch master reverse' that stop the production of seeds and pollen sacks in hermies. its used in the fruit growing world to get seedless fruits. it used in conjunction with ' dutch master penetrator' which allows for a quicker foliar application. i'm just waitin on my stuff arriving so this is all stuff i've read on riu but theres a good thread by a guy named hobbes covering all this stuff.
