Portable AC Unit or co2

Ok so I have a grow room around 9 feet long by 7 feet wide by 7 feet high... I have two 600 watt lights in there right now. I have pretty good ventilation but the temperture still stays around 80 to 85 degrees somtimes it gets hotter....

I was thinking of getting a portable ac unit but not sure what size. Mabey a 8000 bcu unit or would i need more power???
Or should i just forget the ac unit and get a co2 system. I dunno if a co2 system will cool a grow room off any but ive been thinking about getting one on htgsupply.com for around 300...

Anyone have any suggestions to help me out anything at ALLLLL

Using the CO2 allows the plants to manage their business at higher temps. It will not cool off the grow any. Using CO2 is better in well sealed rooms.

I would worry about getting your temps down first than get a co2 setup,

OK so that counts out the c02 i'll just get a ac unit... could you guys help me decide on the best size meaning the right about of btu's... I was thinking of getting a 8000 btu one but im not sure if its going to be strong enough

What ventilation do you have in there? Give us a brief rundown and maybe we can suggest some simple improvements.
You should be able to keep the room within 10 degrees of the ambient temperature.

If you have a sealed room and you opt for the A/C, you will need to supplement CO2. At 85', I'd add the co2 and call it good. I'd recommend a bottle / solenoid setup as a generator will add more heat to the room.

If you are getting an a/c unit, you won't need much more than 2500btu

I have a 9000btu portable ac/ cooling my space 5x5,lights are 400 and 600hps works great even have it vented into the cieling

........I have a similar sized room and run a Sunpentown 12000btu and it kicks ass and maintains whatever temp you want easily.......and it doesn't have to work too hard or long.....and it heats automatically and dehumidifies when/if necessary...... I am not in a "house" and these portables have been a godsend for me over the years.
And they do have their drawbacks.......hot/loud exaust, not to mention power consumption I imagine. In the summer it's a relief to know it's there doing it's thing; hot as it may be.......
I am not experienced with the co2 yet.......I just know you can maintain higher temps but you need to keep room sealed to not lose all of your co2 so fast.....

BootyKang, I'd use an 8,000 or 10,000 btu portable air conditioner for your application.

Also, does your place have a window? If not, the site also has some nice venting options available, like a ceiling vent kit.
