**possible heat issue!!!** please help

86 is a tad high, but not overly worrisome, unless you're on hydro (which you are not, but in which case watch the res temps - 68-70, no higher in res generally) I'm more concerned about 11 degree swings, but again, not overly worrisome there either. I'm guessing the light isn't vented, hence the swings and climbing temps.With co2 you'll want to bring the temps down a bit to make full use; higher temps shuts down the plants some and the co2 isn't being used. Get it in the mid 70's for best use of the co2, I think.

Secure your area of light leaks, And run your lights at night. This will prevent over heating in the day, and over cooling at night.

Also... Higher temps open the plants stamata, not lower. The c02 will be more useful with temps in the range of 90 - 92. Although, These are not temps you should maintain.

I'm going to be quoting this right from this grow book I have in front of me.... "marijuana grows best with a temperature in the low- to mid-70F range during lit period, and five to ten degrees lower during the dark period. Plants grown using CO2 have a higher metabolism and do best in a temperature in the low 80F range during the day and in the 70F range during dark period. Low temperatures, under 65F, slow photosynthesis and growth"

bring your temp down a little bit and then make sure it doesnt drop too much at night. Sealing your room could help maintain steady temp drops but it will also help keep more heat in during the day. Get a bigger fan or use more CO2, I was told it can bring your temps down but thats not the best solution. A/C might be a good solution but it can be expensive and possibly lower your temps too much.

I am running way to much heat in my grow room right now!!! The temp has been sitting just above 85 and I cant seem to get any more of a drop with the air flow I am currently using! I have my 1000w light in a 10x8 area, and growing 20 plants! Also I have my lighting with a fan attached and air ducts connect and directed into another room, my humidity is just about 50% in the room, and I currently have five different fans circulating the air flow. How much will this high temp affect my veg stages of my plants??? And is there any thing else I can do besides keep my main door open to increase air flow and lower the temp?

calical to be perfectly honest if you are sitting at or above 85 your not doing all that bad, bump up your c02 levels in the room, you could always freeze like 4 or 5 gallon, or 2 liter bottles of water, and try to set them in there daily. As long as you have fresh air, or c02 enriched air, mid 80's aren't going to ruin your crop.

Yep 85 isn't the end of the world. I veg my ladies under 83-85 and they did fine. Now after I got a cmh thought my temps are stay under 80.

I actually read somewhere on here that having ur temp between 80-85 will actually increase potency. Not sure how true this is

Ok, I have been a little worried, I decided I am gonna go 18/6hrs lights off during the day to help control the heat considering its the hottest part of the day! And the frozen water idea I LOVE IT!!! I have a humidifier and the best possible air circulation so I will try and add some frozen water bottles tonight to help add more Co2 in the room . First major grow, so I am still working out all the kinks! Thanks for the advice guys!
