Possible to grow under a tree canopy?

OK so I went scouting today and noticed an old tree that makes a nice canopy for possible growing under. It seems like a good way to hide them from the fuzz flying over top. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this. There is definitely enough room for them to grow high but just not sure if this will affect the light they get. Let me know what you guys think.

The more direct sunlight the more the plant reaches its full potential-

Example: i grow tomatoe plants and 5 of them get direct sunlight for about 8 hours and the other gets direct sunlight for 1. The one with 1 hour of direct sunlight has a weak stem and is growing about 40% slower than the ones that get 8 hours of direct sunlight.

well said.... its totally doable but the plants arent gunna thrive as hard and will be weaker. im scouting as well and have been growin for a few years and what i do is spock the spots that you think are do able at different times in the day to judge how much direct and indirect sunlight your plants get. that way you know whether or not to bring the chainsaw the next time you stop by(Jk)
