Look at ur bill and find out how much it is per KWH. Kilo(1000) Watts per Hour.
here its like 3.5 cents for actual energy and 3.5 cents service charge(BULLSHIT)
so 7 cents per 1000 watts used per hour lights use a little more watts than they say due to loss to lets say 1100. multiply how many watts ur using by how long, example 1100 x 12 hours a day x 30 days = 396,000 watts used in a month. Divide that by 1000 and you get 396, so 396 KW's a months. Multiply that by your price per kilo watt, in my case 7 cents so that is .07
1100 x 12 x 30 / 1000 x .07 = 27.72. So around 27 bucks. Use this formula for any light/lights.
all mine for example
a 1000 watt hps 12/12, 400 watt mh 24hr, and 4 54 watt t5's for 24hr
(1100 x 12) + (450 x 24) + (216 x 24) x 30 / 1000 x .07
13200 + 10800 + 5184 = 29184 x 30 / 1000 x .07 = 61.xxx
glad ta help, though I think this info is stickied at the top of the forum though lol.
And I don't know much about hydro other than you should definitely SOG, you'll get more yield and quicker growing plants but supposedly they wont "taste" as good as with soil, just what I've heard.
I'm going to go hydro soon, I'll be building my own simple automated flood table setup I'll go with either just GH or Advanced nutes. If I can afford it I have been hearing GREAT things about Dutch Masters nutes.
It costs alot to start too, you need A digital probe to monitor PH and PP, you also need purified water, and its going to take awhile to get it right at first.
I think for what I am paying for dirt though Hydro will pay for itself in a year.
To get started completly wit err thing its gona be like 100 to 200 to 276 dollas, the better shit u want the more cash, the most xpensive is the hps or mh light ( complete system), the tester ph and ppm, and the rest are pretty cheap, this shit is so challenging and fun i love it. Im like a hood flourist or sumthin, good luck , ima check u out , see how u doin
