You just tell yourself that the unripe buds are a big pile of worthless nothing until they're finished. If you've ever smoked immature buds, you hold onto the memory of what it's like to smoke and smoke fresh, white-haired weed and get nothing. If you have just a shitty day and really can't wait, a small bud can be removed from the bottom of the plant, quick-dried in the microwave and then sampled. Don't remove more than one tiny bud from a flowering plant in maybe a 5-day period. Too much trimming during flowering can cause problems. This is a good way to check on how a plant's high is developing.

I like to take a nub when I think she has 1-2 weeks left. That helps and also the final results are swollen buds. Like these OG#18 that are coming down in a few days.

You still have to wait out the cure. Plus, a little taste of honey is worse than none at all.

Damn ive been trimming my fan leaves close to harvest because i thought it would help the bud sites get more light.

Patience is the single-most important thing I have learned. Soil, temps, watering, feeding, PH, all that means next to nothing without patience.

Hehe, well you just take one branch, not the whole plant. The idea of waiting out the cure is a funny one, fuck that, i smoke once it's dry and it get's me stoend. then it just starts to get better and better, i can happily sacrifice on the "taste" if it's getting me high :)

Just pinch a bud, preheat your oven to 200-degrees F, put the bud on a piece of foil and set it in the oven, turn off the heat and walk away for 20 to 30 minutes, or until bud is dry enough to smoke.
If the bud does the job you need it to do, you're good to go for selectively pinching nugs until harvest time.
No real need to chop a whole branch. ;-)
*As a side note: I smoke to control nausea & increase appetite and general body aches, and have good medicinal results with pinching early samples between harvests. And the medicinal properties only get better the closer to harvest, too

You are wrong.
Taste is all subjective.
It is harsher than properly cured bud but, as I intimated: I smoke it to control nausea and appetite.
And it sure as fuck beats puking all over floor due to my prescription meds.
I can deal with a few seconds of harsh taste far more easily than I can the waves of random nausea caused by my prescription meds.
You asked how we resist the temptation to cut down an entire plant between harvests when out of weed to smoke, and I answered how I do it.
Doesn't matter to me if you sit there staring at your plants for the next 3 or 4 weeks, kvetching about whether to snip an early bud on not.

I snipped a little bud, dried it over nite with my fan blowing on it. Ive tried the oven bud thing before and it just smelled so bad. Microwave bud, i can handle, just ashame i don't have one of those lol.
Anyway im day 53 of flower and she'll be coming down in a few days so good feelings all round.

i feel that man...pineapple chunk has some potency to it before any cure at all, but the buds obviously get better over time hence the concept of curing...
