So here's the lowdown:
12 hours ago I planted 10 Skunk#1 seeds into 1.5" grodan starter mini-blocks. The starter cubes were then placed on a seed flat, and set on the top shelf of a dark closet. Snuggly fitting over the seed flat and cubes is a 7" humidity dome, with house temperatures of 74 degrees. In the past I tried adding heat to the bottom with a commercial propagating mat with bad results. I fried them. I set the temperature at 75, planted the sensing bulb into a cube, and still would get way to hot for seeds. Sometimes the temperature rose to over 100. Am I not using it properly? I want to use the mat to speed up the seedling stage. Below is a picture of the mat thermostat I am using, it is plugged into a pro-grow 22"x22" rubber commercial propagating mat; anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance to all who may respond.
