Have these two NYC Diesel outdoor AUTO plants in SoCal. 5 gallons. Fox farm trio. Day 47 of flower. Everything was going well until recently. Not sure if this is Nute burn, or moisture control issues. Just recently noticed that some of the buds turned brown and are falling off. The leaves look super messed up, and I starting to see rapid decline. My question is, is this reversable? And at this point, am I close enough to chop? What would you guys do if it was yours? We are close to the ocean so the moisture is pretty up there nights and mornings. And have been watering VERY lightly since noticing a change. Appreciate any insight. Cheers!

I’m a newbie, so take it easy on me. ; p

Cut it. It's developing bud rot. Go through the buds and look for fungus. Discard any infected parts in the fire. Then look up bud washing and do it. It'll help get rid of some of the bugs and dirt that get on plants and leave you with a nicer product to smoke.
Good job getting this far. And welcome to RIU.
Good luck friend!

Yeah I have a tree that drops these little seed things on them too. Harmless i think. Also saw a couple hornworms along the way. I mean, how do you control these things outdoors? I had them going so well, and then, boom, one day they took a turn.
Thanks for your quick response!! There looks to be quite a bit of good bud left,,, but figured I should cut before they all rotted.

Next time use BT, Spinosad, and an organic antifungal like potassium bicarbonate (lots of different products available ).

Classic caterpillar infestation. The only way to save those is to hose them with BT.

When you chop it down you will have to do a detailed trim. Get close to the stem meeting the node. Your going to find black grit which is caterpillar shit. That's causing the rot. You might be able to salvage 25% of the plant. There is also damage not visible until you peel the onion back so to speak.

See the thread : it's budworm season in the outdoor grow forum.

In over to defeat caterpillars you have to treat with BT once a week from the start of flower right until the finish. Only way to keep them off the plants is to spray before you see them or damage to the plants.

Trust me on this. I've been there.

Excuse my negligence, but what is BT?
