Proper Watering Question

I've got some feminized Shaman darlings that are a week or two from making the jump from dirt to an inherited ebb-and-flow hydro set-up. The previous owner had the submersible pump running at 12 minutes on and 12 minutes off 24/7. The water manifold has little sipper tubes that drip right on the rockwool that supports the plant in the clay media. Is that too much water?

The amount of water utilized and the nutriend solution formulation are factors the both go into determining flow rate. For example, a fairly concentrated nutrient solution can be applied, sufficient to meet the crop requirements for a specified time period, and then water applied as needed until the next dose of nutrient solution is needed. Once daily would be best. One important objective would be the elimination of the need to water leech the rooting medium periodically to remove accumulated nutrient elements. If you do find an accumulation of nutrient elements, it's an indication of overapplication and you would need to modify the application rate (combined concentration and volume applied). Does that help?
