I have a 36 inch mother and have been pluckng off the big leaves. I heard youre supposed to take as many big leaves off as possible is this true

Absolutely not. Never remove leaves until they yellow and start dying. Prune the tips to keep the plant sized for the grow area, but never defoliate the plant by taking off the fan leaves thinking you are helping the plant.
