What is the best and most reliable place to purchase ballasts and bulbs? I'm looking to buy a MH and HPS plus ballasts. I saw the best deals and prices thread, but although I want good prices I also want the best place in terms of service.

if there is a local shop ide try them print out what you want off a large internet supplier and have them match the price all these place get all the same stuff for the same price just some are more greaty than others, but i foundmost all local grow shops are happy to give 10-15% off and 20% to good custimers no problem. and this way anythig goes wrong bring it in and its replaced intancedly but if they actlike dickand dick u around ide go to ebay and look up usponics he got really good prices and all the same stuff that the big guys have for way less and hell stand behind it 100% no douts

I have to order them off the internet. There are no hydro stores or anything like them in my area or even close. The home improvement stores don't seem to have HID lights only fluorescents. Which surprised me greatly. Unless I'm looking in the wrong areas, but I go to the sections marked lighting so I assume that's correct? Lol. Also there are a few nurseries that sell supplies, but not during the winter and I don't think they sell lighting at all. I live in Iowa by the way.

Try craigslist or whatever first. The market is littered with former growers and there are probably some quite close by.

There are alot of good mail order company's to choose from. I have ordered from these company's many times http://eastwesthydro.com/, http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com! They both have great customer service. I have also learned that sometimes the place with the cheapest price is not always the best choice. I have ordered a few things online from a few cheap places trying to save a penny and the stuff was all beat up (ALMOST LOOKED USED).
