Question about ice hash!?!

I just harvested tonight and I have a nice zip of smaller buds and trim in the freezer right now, fresh off the plant. I have all my supplies for making some ice water hash but i was wondering if its cool to go ahead and start after i let it freeze a little longer? I know a lot of people like to wait till their leaves and buds dry then just make it, but my green is fresh, would it really make a difference if i just made up a batch of hash tonight?

Fresh frozen material... freeze for at least 24hr+. You'll get better hash from fresh n frozen. If u decide to dry ur material... let it soak for 15-20 min before aggitation.

wow i just wasted all my trim. i guess i didnt freeze it long enough and barely any resin came off and into the water. now if i use buds, is it better to grind em up before putting them in the water or should they go in whole?

Let the material dry thoroughly - grind as fine as you can or put in a ziplock bag & crush it. Freeze for 24 hours & use plenty of ice.

i tried the coffee filter method and the results were shit. im never trying that again. do you find siphoning the water out with a hose or baster a better method? i feel that way would be wasting a lot less triches.

NO... don't listen to him.. sorry buddy. Use fresh buds... pull the buds apart gently so that u don't crush the trics. If u dried the buds already... don't break apat. I wouldn't even use the dry buds. But if u do... let it soak for 15-20 min. But do not grind or break up the buds...

My advice is to look into Matt Rize's Ice Wax thread... I think pg 40 and on is where you'll get the most up to date method. Trust me... Matt knows his shit.

Ice Wax is the easiest concentrate to make IMO.., and when you get your method down patt... you'll have some of the best smoke you've ever had.

OK... let me start out by saying....

DO NOT GRIND OR CRUSH ANY MATERIAL YOU ARE PLANNING ON SPINNING HASH WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second... fresh and frozen is the best thing you can use... but if you have dry material you DEFINITELY can still make something rly bomb...

bigcarty24 was right when he recommended soaking before spinning anything... I personally do an 11 minute soak in ice and water followed by 10 minute agitation.... the 11 minute soak lets the material rehydrate and freeze to the proper temperature to spin at... if you spin your materials without a soak you will end up with a significantly less melty result... Also... something that most people don't seem to mention... try not to keep your materials in water for any more than 30 minutes continuously at any given time... doing so will leech chlorophyll into your hash...

I am slowly working on putting together a couple guides of my own... from what I've seen, heard, etc... Matt's guide is pretty on point...
As far as bags... I'm just gonna say this... SIDE SCREENS!!! I use PayLoad bags and would highly recommend em... I know Neato also makes bags with side screens.... but I have not used them myself personally... although I'm sure they're probably fine too... Also... if you don't get a full set... one micron bag you definitely shouldn't skip is the 100 MICRON BAG!!! the best hash I've ever made has come off of the 100 screen...

can you buy the bags individually?
yes you can buy the bags individually... And the thing about buying bags is... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! If you spend $10 a bag... you'll get exactly that... a $10 bag.... do yourself a favor and drop $180 on a nice 9 bag set... it should theoretically pay for itself in one use... any reputable brand will do... but again... I'm gonna have to recommend a brand which makes bags with side screens...
