Question about lighting setup..

Hi. I have a closet area of about eight foot high, six feet wide and a little over two feet in width..I was wondering what wattage metal halide/high pressure sodium light I would want to essentually use with a 5-pot DWC hydroponic system..The system is of course in a roughneck (storage tub) plastic container/reservoir. (Also, what size net pots should be used? There is enough room for like 5 inch pots, if necessary..with good spacing.) I was thinking like a 400 watt setup for both MH and HPS..But I dont know if that's too much, or how hot it will make the closet. Any suggestions?

My closet is almost the same size. I divided it in half and use a 400w hps on the flowering side. I keep the flowering side sealed shut all the time with no heat problems. I have good ventilation though...

Do you mind if I ask what kind of ventilation you use? And Im unsure of how smelly five mazar plants are going to get..

I use a 120 cfm bathroom fan in the ceiling for my exhaust.I also run a active air intake, it's a 120v 6" muffin fan (i'm not sure of the cfm but it is very strong and moves a lot of air). And of course an oscillating fan to keep the air circulating inside the room...

Is it hard to install that type of ventilation into a closet setup? What is required to run the venting through to your bathroom fan exhaust at the top of the closet? Also..Do you know how big Blueberry and Mazar fems get at maturity? I've got about seven to eight inches of space between each center in the 5" netpots.

No it wasn't hard to install, the ducting runs to my funace room which is close and i just dumped it there.

Major - Did you cut a hole into your ceiling and run it through thataway to another room? My closet wall on the backside is about six inches from the backwall of my brother's closet..Which is filled with shit and never uses. I was wondering if I could just run the exhaust into his closet, and run an intake from my room?

Victor - Thanks for the info.. Im going to need all of the help I can get with new strains.. It's kind of odd really, but I find the difference in strain and the strain's preferable nutrient and light levels to be a bit more difficult in progressing with rather than keeping up with the nutrient levels and proper pH balance.
