Question about making Cannaoil

So I've made CannaOil many many times with great success. BUT my question is, If I had some bud that was recently chopped (not cured for smoking) would it be okay to cook it for CannaOil? Would it effect the end result? Since I'm not smoking it, it wouldn't matter if it's wet or at least that is my thinking. If you have knowledge/experience with this, then comment away.

alot of people make canna products with fresh bud the only difference is fresh retains more water which as the fresh stuff sits in there the water from the plant will seperate frrom the oil and u can take the water out it might however give it more of a cloraphil taste but imho i dont think it makes it any less potent

Ok thank you for your input. Does anyone else have experience with cooking uncured bud?

It fine to do, but like mj said you will be left with the residual water from the plant in your Budder or Cannaoil. I noticed it does taste more grassy if you use wet bud as opposed to dry/cured bud but some people like this taste? not me..lol

Best thing to do is just dry it out... using wet material will just end up becoming a hassle since you have to seperate the "water"
In Budder just stick it in the fridge and whatever isn't solid, dump out. Cannaoil will sink and push the water to the top so you have to siphon it off.

Good Luck!

but the resin glands and plant oils are takin out by the oil u use so as the chemicals (resin and ecential oil)sit in the oil and still cure so to speak

well I compare this to making any other oils when the bud is fresh and ripe you would think the oil would be at its most robust state but it maybe a little easier to pull it if its dried

try water curing first. https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/102641-greenx-how-tos-how-water.html

instead of drillin holes in the jar lid, i cut a piece of window screening and put it ontop of the jar. then i pushed the lid down and screwed it on(without that flat piece). the window screen will keep the nugs in while you turn it upside down. i use reverse osmosis water for mine. i think the cleaner the water, the better.

the water will smell like shit when you pour it out. make sure to do it every day for like 7 days. all that stuff woulda been in your butter. you may want to let it dry out before you use it in the butter. im not sure if it matters though
