Question about reputation comments??????

Ive noticed that on some of my posts, i received some possitive reputaion comments (THANKS), but i would also like to do the same for other members but cant really figure out how, OR what it really is, can someone explain what it really means and lemme know how to do it, thank you fellow growers!!!!!!

the little star at the bottom of a post. bottom left.

I like rep... I'd like some too... The little green squares under your screen name represent your "rep"... the more "rep" you got, I guess the more believable your answers and suggestions are... It doesn't serve much of a purpose beyond that... someone correct me if I'm wrong

Seems to be the case, but as with anything.. mileage may vary, greatly. I don't look at rep or post count with answers, I look at how plausible it may be and then do googling and compare it to other posts to see if they're at least semi-sane. That to me determines whether or not the person is just repeating what the person 7 posts above them said, or if they provided additional information to solidify their answer.
