Question about Rooting Clones

so i'm into my first grow ever. my plants were veggin for 6 weeks, then flipped to flower, for 2 weeks now. they're ranging like 4 to 5 ft tall, looking good. right when i flipped them, i took 24 clones. they're all still alive, and have had new growth, and growing after the first couple days. it's been 2 weeks now, and there's no roots showing still under the rockwool? i know it can take up to 3 weeks to see roots, but isn't the growth suppose to come after you see roots?

That is perfectly normal. The cuttings often have enough stored energy to put out pups without roots. Keep it up they should come out soon

One more question though.... I have my clones under 4 100w equivalent cfl's 24/7. I have been turning 2 off every other day, don't ask me why lol. Should I be turning them to 22, 20 or 18 hours light soon?

Best cycle is 20/4 you should keep them the first 3-4 days in 24/0 and then move to whatever cycle you want as far as the plant gets 16 or more hours of light. Roots are proven to grow faster at night period but I've never shifted from 24/0 myself with good results so it's safe to say it's not necessary. You should at least be seeing white calluses in the stems where the roots are meant to pop out, if not, Could you please describe your cloning technique? what did you do with the mothers? how did you prep the clones?

Actually, I don't have mothers yet. I pulled them from the plants I have going. Well, I guess they would be the mothers? I am VERY new to this. I have only seen a live plant about maybe 5 times before this whole thing started. I clipped some healthy looking pieces off of the existing plants I have from the bottom. About 4 each. I then cut the bottoms at a 45 degree angle with a new razor blade and dipped them in clonex cloning gel. Then I put them in rockwool cubes soaked in 5.8 ph water. Then in to a tray with dome, vents open on sides not top. Sprayed the plants lightly and the dome. I don't have a heating pad so I put a small heater under them when I'm out there, in my garage. Mostly all day. I have them under 2 100w equivalent cfl's 24/7. I spray the dome and plant lightly as I think is needed. And I also hace supplemental CO2.

one bulb would be sufficient 24/7 until they grow roots and start actively growing.

The plants from where you took the cuttings are considered mothers. It's very important to leach Nitrogen prior taking the cut for example which I assume you didn't and it really does make a difference in rooting time. What about your RW cubes, did you soak them? in what?

Sorry haven't been on in a while.... I soaked them in 5.8 RO water. I ended up tossing 8 of them. They didn't look so hot after a while. So 16 survived. They ended up getting mold though! I have been spraying them with a solution of 1 part skim milk and 9 parts water, witha drop of Dawn. I didn't PH the water however........ Just thought of that.........
