Hello, i have germinated my seeds and got 2 plants that are little sproats now, im going to be using a box to grow in with Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil.

Can i just put reflective flim in the box, and get 4 CFLs to grow with and a fan going in and a fan going out, and just add water to the plant every now and then?

Yeah, why not?

You'll need to feed it nutrients along with the water, and change the bulbs from 6500k in veg, to 2700k in flower...

Sounds like you are on the right track. Line your box with mylar and you should be good to go.

Do you have an intake/exhaust openings incase your box exceeds 85 degrees?

You will also want a little mini clip fan to keep the air circulated or any fan for that matter.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest is good and should get you through the veg period just fine. However, if you have extra money definitely use 1/4 strength nutrients starting at week 4. I use the entire line of FF nutrients including the solubles. If you are on a budget, I'd just get the Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom or just Big Bloom.

As for watering, your plant will tell you. You can use the lift-the-pot method or invest in a moisture meter. I have been using the rapitest single probe moisture meter which I got on ebay for under $10

Edit: You will want to get pH up/pH down and a pH tester. It's vital that you pH your water before you feed the plants.

Just making sure that by "reflective film" you are not talking about foil. Foil can easily cause the heat to get out of control in your box and burn your plants up. Just my two cents.

can i just use the same soil? im not lazy, im just busy and want and easy grow because im away from my house weeks at a time.

also i was thinking of tieing my plants down for a bigger yield, is this a good idea?

What do you mean by use the same soil? If you are away from your house for weeks, who is going to take care of your plants? And what are the dimensions of your box?

I know several people that have had plenty of success using FFOF all the way through. But I HAVE heard of calcium/magnesium deficiencies toward the end so make sure you get a cal-mag supplement.

Sorry, I misunderstood you earlier. I used FFOF for my first grow from seedling and had no problems whatsoever. Definitely get Botanicare Cal-Mag incase you to get calcium/magnesium deficiencies. I feed around 70ppm every 3 waterings, but that's just what I do.

For my second grow, I used FF Happy Frog and should have started using nutrients around week 3 or 4. For FFOF, you can easily go a month or a little more without nutrients because it's packed with them already. FFOF is the hottest followed by Happy Frog and then Light Warrior.

The bottomline is that many people use FFOF from seed and have no problems with their seedlings burning. I guess it depends on how temperamental the strain is. I say go with either FFOF or Happy Frog all the way through. Also, make sure to mix in some perlite to aerate the soil and improve drainage. I just used Schindlers Perlite, but FF makes their own and is $44 compared to the $12 I paid.
