Question on Spectrum of a Bulb

Hi there, I recently purchased a SOLARMAX™ VEGETATIVE CONVERSION 600W MH 7200K to run for some veg. I was using a T-5, but its just not working fast enough for me. I want to know if anyone can tell me anything about their use (hopefully), or ideas about the bulb itself. It wasn't too expensive so I won't consider myself out that badly if I got a bad deal.

The T-5 is supposed to have the "latest technology" and runs at 6500k so I worry now about the spectrum (after I purchased something, as always).

I have a 600w HPS system, and just trying to find excellent light for the conversion (I can't afford to get new ballasts - and I only need 1 lamp).

I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section, seems I didn't get any replies from the first post. I had a second question to add to this, and hopefully if nothing else I can be pointed in the right direction.

Question #2:

Can I run a MH bulb on my HPS ballast(s) knowing it takes away from the life of the BULB does it take away / damage the ballasts too? I am not highly concerned w/ the bulb, as its only like 120 at the most for an excellent MH, but its goin to be like 300 for a new MH ballast, and then 100 for the new bulb ;) If I can get 3-6 months from the bulb I would be happy...

Any thoughts?

Also if anyone has any suggestions / answers to the first questions (or point me somewhere) I would greatly appreciate your help. I can give you rep if that will get your aid ;)

Thanks again, either way.

Yes you can run a mh on an hps ballast with a little shortened life expectancy of the light but it shouldnt effect your ballast. I would guess that 7200k is a little to much on the blue side. I dont get above 6500k. Usually lights that get above that are for aquarium plants and to use with fish tanks. I could be wrong bc I just havent ever tried it but thats just my 2 cents.:bigjoint:

If you said you already had t5s, run them with your 600 with a mh in it with a 6000k bulb and see how that works out for ya.
