question with flowering.

At what point do buds pack on the most weight? I've read conflicting stories on the last 2-3 weeks either being when they grow the most vs dont grow at all and are just maturing

Yup smell and aroma comes out too in the last week. If done right, it smokes good and needs less cure.

I think it depends on the strain. Usually some indica leaning strains stop after 6 weeks. I've had some sativa dominant strains that do it the last 3 weeks. I had a Sativa that gained weight the last 4 weeks she stretched the first 6 weeks it Was a 11 week strain.
