Try to take most of the roots. All if possible. This will be a really hard thing to do. Every transplanted a larg tree? Its a bitch and about the same to do to your bush there.

id be real careful if your gonna try to dig those up. yes, the roots are probably all tangled up and the plants are probably fighting for nutrients. the transplant shock will be bad, what are you doing with them moving them inside?

iv never grown before so iv never had this prob but couldnt you just dig a bigger whole around the 2 plants so u dont hit any of the roots and slowely brake away the soial with your hands and the roots that are stuck to eatchother get as much dirt as you can out of tha area and shake them apart?
i really dont no what im talking about but sounds good lol

No nutes, and no im moving houses so im putting them in a friends backtard, how deep should i dig?
When transplanting any shrub or small tree you should water well before digging. Try to dig at least 3 feet out and deep before attempting to remove. The hole you transplant it to should be as wide and deep also B-1 (Yucca extract) is excellent for reducing transplant shock....It will most likely wilt for several days....don't kill it with kindness either...It's a weed, it will come back to life!

Good luck, that is a big move. Previous poster has it right on. Go with that. Are they flowering yet?

Also after you move the plant to it's new home make a shade cover for about a week. If it is hot out in your area it will be really hard on the plant. Keep it out of direct sunlight until you se it start to recover.

Tarps work well
