Questions About a HPS bulb.

Is this a good idea? Does this plug into a regular socket? Would this one bulb along with 5 42 watt cfl's be sufficient? 1000 Watt High Pressure Sodium - Clear - Mogul Base

no the hps bulb can only go into an hps HID light fixture rated for a 1000 watt hps bulb and a 1000 watt hps ballast....

check out ebay for the light your looking for or look into some hydro stores, they all sell em..

Wonder where the term Mogul comes from ... yet another thing I'll put on my Things To Look-Up Someday List

Thanks for the help reef. One more question though, what will a bulb like that do to an electric bill? 1000 watts is alot.

alsoo dont worry as far as a legal issue (suspect), it takes more than 6KW an hour to raise suspicion.. I have a friend who works for the utility company and has given me quite the legal run down, thats why so many states have gotten into helicopters for heat signatures etc.. your "big light" will raise no eyebrows in case you were wondering.
