1) Move to Laytonville. Maybe Willits. Not Ukiah.
2) Spend two to three years getting to know people and getting known.
3) Wait for the right situation to come to you.
4) Grow the fuck out of it.
I've been living here in Babylon for a few years, and a lot has changed back home, but I doubt it's changed so much that you're going to find an online listing like "For rent: 40 acres parcel 6 miles up Spy Rock Road. Southern exposure, mix of manzanita, alder, and oak. Year round spring provides gravity flow water. 420 friendly. Call Sunshine Rasta at 707-xxx-xxxx."
I dunno, maybe Sonoma plays different. It's part of America, so different rules apply.
A better plan would be to buy a parcel. But if you want to be successful you should still expect to invest a year on the project before you cut a clone or plant a seed -- you buy a 40 in the middle of nowhere without really knowing the ground, the neighborhood, and the rules you're going to fail.
