I followed Oakley's QWISO concentrate tutorial and using a little over a zip of trimmings and popcorn, I made some hash oil:
Quick pour through the reusable plastic filter:
Then that was poured though single-use paper coffee filters (this took almost an hour, and several filters were used) to clarify:
Cooking took several hours. I didn't want to rush it, and made sure the ISO didn't exceed 50C. I felt like this guy:
Then I mixed the e-juice (70/30 PG to VG):
I bought a bottom coil wickless Evod MT3 Clearomizer and a 1100mAh variable voltage (I found 3.7 volts had the best results) eGo-T battery:
I'm fairly pleased with the results. I'm not sure if I was supposed to heat up the PG/VG and concentrated oil together, or if you're supposed to leave all three combined in a bottle for a period of weeks before vaping it, but I did neither of those things. I can confirm that it does work, although I had to vape the juice for around 10 mins (about twice as long as it takes me to smoke a joint) before I felt it. The high crept up on me, rather than an instant hit through a bong or pipe. It's mellowing, though, which is nice during the day, and incredibly discrete. I've taken this out with me, and casually vaped around unsuspecting strangers indoors and out, and no one so much as looked in my direction.
In summary, I was able to make a concentrated e-liquid from trimmings which I would've ordinarily just given away or tossed it, and I'm now able to casually and discretely 'medicate' whilst out and about.
The downside is the negligible amount of oil I was able to extract from the trimmings I used. I might consider using a zip of medical-grade bud from my next harvest in 7ish weeks. That way, I figure I'll be able to produce more liquid with higher THC content, which would hopefully result in a more potent e-liquid. More potent = fewer pulls and less time spent vaping in order to achieve my desired level of mellowness.
Peace
