im basically wanting to recreate general hydro's maxigrow/maxibloom. it's a 1 part nutrient that has everything except silica in powder form, adding 1 tsp per gallon give you 1.7ec..
ideally i want to create a base. like one part that is the same for both veg and flower.. then a veg additive and a flower additive. so by adding the veg additive to the base the end result is 'maxigrow' and by adding the flower mixture to the base, the end result is 'maxibloom'.
here is the info for maxigrow:
maxigrow (10-5-14) is a pretty complete one part powder with the exception of silica. here's the percentages according to the bag i have:
Total Nitrogen: 10%
- Ammoniacal Nitrogen: 1.5%
- Nitrate Nitrogen: 8.5%
Phosphate (P2O5): 5%
Soluble Potash (K2O): 14%
Calcium (CA): 6%
Water Soluble Magnesium: 2%
Combined Sulfur: 3%
Chelated Iron (Fe): 0.12%
Chelated Manganese (Mn): 0.05%
Derived from: Ammonium Molybdate, Ammonium Nitrate, Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Iron DPTA, Magnesium Sulfate, Manganese EDTA, Monopotassium Phosphate, Potassium Borate, Potassium Nitrate and Zinc Sulfate.
here is the info for maxibloom:
MaxiBloom (5-15-14) for comparison:
Nitrogen: 5%
- 0.5% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
- 4.5% Nitrate Nitrogen
Available Phosphate (P2O5): 15%
Soluble Potash (K2O): 14%
CA: 5%
water soluble Mg: 3.5%
Sulfur: 4%
Iron: 0.1%
Derived from: Ammonium Molybdate, Ammonium Nitrate, Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Iron DTPA, Iron EDTA, Magnesium Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Monopotassium Phosphate, Potassium Borate, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Sulfate, and Zinc Sulfate
ok, so the questions i have are, what does the percentage actually mean? does 5-15-14 mean 5ppm-15ppm-14ppm? or? and how would i recreate this formula. i assume the 'derived from' portion on each bag is the salts they used to achieve their mix.
i tried using this excel spreadsheet 'saltmix3b' that calculates nutrients. i used the ingredients listed on both bags, and i got it pretty close, but i had to add a couple extra things to get what i think is the same ratio. im probably not doing it right though.
so on the spreadsheet. ill upload them if anyone can look, but here's the copied over values:
base:
ammonium nitrate pure (nh4no3): 0.55g
calcium nitrate (ca(NO3)2): 7.8g
Calcium sulphate dihydrate (CaSO4.2H2O): 0.8g
Magnesium sulphate (MgSO4): 3.95g
Monopotassium phosphate (KH2PO4): 8.5g
Potassium Nitrate (KNO3): 3.9g
veg add:
ammonium nitrate pure (nh4no3): 3.15g
calcium nitrate (ca(NO3)2): 1.8g
Potassium Nitrate (KNO3): 4.1g
flower add:
Magnesium Oxide (MgO): 0.5g
Magnesium sulphate (MgSO4): 1.55g
Monopotassium phosphate (KH2PO4): 5.5g
Phosphate (PO4) 8.5g
HOW MUCH TRACE MINERALS?? SILICA?? HOW MUCH TABLE SALT?? (sodium chloride)
need to divide these values by 10
...
can anyone offer me any advice on how to recreate maxigrow/maxibloom using the 'derived from' ingredients please? or any other advice or anything at all is appreciated
