Ready to harvest?! Northern lights first grow

What happened is that I did some research into advanced light yields. So defoliation of the leaves around the bud sites so more light directly to the buds makes them swell up more.

any idea how long it will be until she's ready?

It looks like your experiment shocked the plant badly. I don't see much in the way of red pistols yet so you have got some time. Whose NL is it? When I've grown Sensi's it finishes in 7 or 8 weeks max.

It's hard to tell since you "defoliated" . IMHO i would say trimming the leaves around the buds stresses the plant into making more leaves and less buds...

Where do you think plants get their energy to produce flowers? Leaves bro.

Coming over as a smartarse AND asking for help is probably not an effective combination.
And your 'research' needs 'researching' because plants that look like that, after TEN WEEKS FLOWER are just plain wrong.

Mine aren't at 4 weeks and they have buds as big.
(and I never did the 'advanced research').

What do you mean by light leak?
Are you serious?
On one post you try to act like some expert using 'advanced research'
and on the next you ask "What is light leak"???

You need to be honest and just admit you fucked up, badly.

No one will judge you for fucking up
But they will know if you're trying to be something that you're not.

I'm just trying to figure stuff out man, I can see that I've fucked up now. I did what I thought was right but I guess not.

Don't let it get you down. I have been doing this for awhile and plants still go tits up on me. In the future, grow extra plants if you want to experiment on them. As to your current plant, stop taking off the leaves. I imagine in 3-4 weeks she'll sort herself out. It sucks when plants turn out badly, but you often learn a lot from it.

not to say experimenting is bad or anything but you should grow a plant out a few times without touching it or just topping it and see the whole process before you start trying to increase your yield.

ive got about 8 harvests under my belt and i have just started messing around with a tiny bit of defoliation for lower bud sites to get a little more light.
