First post you guys helped out tremendously!! Lets see what we can figure out together on this one! I am ready to move out of my 400 HPS closet grow, and into a outdoor building that will be using a 1000 HPS Vented Hood
lighting system.

I am trying to figure out how to vent this! Of course there are two sides to vent on the hood. I was thinking it may be an issue with the ducting when i need to lower/raise the light.

How should i set this up? Attach a fan to the wall that pulls the air from the hood outside? Should i use my existing can fan and push air through one side of the vent and suck it out on the other end?? Im completely stumped on this one. i have 6" flanges on the new hood and my existing carbon can fan is 4"

I will have heating/cooling in this building, but im sure not enough cooling power for these hot texas summers to not vent the 1000 HPS.

:peace:

yes u got it right. put the fan on the end of the hood and suck the air out the hood. u might want to step up on yah fan because that 1000w going to letting off alot of heat. i have a 1000w vented hood and this is wha i do. i have a 8'' fan(500cfm) sucking but i also am in a small area.

if you suck the air out of the hood, as opposed to pushing it, the heat will kill the fan prematurely. always push the heat. intake from outside the building and exhaust outside the building. one straight line is ideal.

run the scrubber on a separate fan and exhaust outside the building if possible. don't forget to account for prefilters if so equiped.

Thanks for the good info. I saw it happening two ways, and just wanted to feel "sure" about what i was going to do. Pushing fresh air through made the best sense.

THANKS!!
