Rebuilding mini ramp. help needed on materials etc....

hi,

pretty much as the title says.

i have a mini ramp in my field which hasn't seen action for some years. it has been neglected and to be honest instead of rebuilding it, we might as well tear it down and start from scratch.

i searched for a while but found no good on-line blueprints for ramps.

my first question is... what materials would be best? the ramp itself will have to be flexible and capable of handling all weather types. are there good ways of weathering wood? better types?

thanks

I bet some good deck sealer would work. Just use treated lumber where ever you can. Get a big tarp that you can cover the ramp with when the weather gets bad.

for blue prints try this... http://www.danscomp.com/881080.php?cat=MISC

or this... http://www.danscomp.com/881066.php?cat=MISC

i bought that book a really long time ago and it has alot more prints. it has half pipes, mini pipes, quarter pipes, rails, boxes... pretty much anything you could wanna build.

and for wood get this stuff.... its expensive but its made for building ramps and being outside... fuck i tried googling it but i couldnt find what i was looking for. i used to be really into this stuff back in middle school. it was the same wood they used at woodward. but just researching now i came across this site. might be helpful for you. http://www.urbanramps.co.uk/budget-ramps.shtml

hope this helps

thanks, yea. i think a big tarp would be a good idea.

Thanks, that certainly does help. lots of good stuff there.

i found these plans
