Red Stems and Droopy Fan Leaves

Hi all,

We just noticed yesterday our micro grow babies started drooping their fan leaves pretty heavily as well as all of the stems to the fan leaves turning Red/Purple.

As we looked today, it seems to have gotten worse. I'm wondering what could be causing this.

I know some will say it can be genetics, but we have a bunch of different strains and every single plant is exhibiting these signs.

Any input is appreciated!

Looks like it needs calmag. That will also bring more green out in your foliage.

First things first tho.. how much calmag do you feed & when was the last time?

No calmag as of now. They were on a 10-3-6 with 3% cal for the last 3/4 of veg.

Then switched over to Lotus bloom 6-10-14 with 6% cal and 1.5% mag. Started at half strength - moving to full strength next feeding (today was just ph balanced water)

We did have a gnat problem, so upped the wind a little and lengthened the dry cycle to avoid over watering (my partner has a bad habit with that)

Temps also dropped ~65F twice in the past week (heater crapped out over night)

I know there's a TONNNNN of factors. Just trying to narrow it down slightly.

I noticed the discoloration on the edge of the fan leaves about a week ago. Consulted the almighty leaf chart and came to the conclusion that it was a K def. I did 2 watering's in a row with 1/2 strength bloom. Seems like it helped, new growth looks okay.

Cool temps is my first thought. You could be locking out stuff too. What type of soil or media are you using?

OK, organic soil. I think you're overdoing the nutes maybe and causing lockouts. I'd try just pH'd water for a bit. Those are high NPK numbers for a soil grow. The microbes can be killed off with too high of levels.

I'm hoping it's the temps. Last run we used the same nutes with slightly higher grade organic soil and it was fine.

We're gonna watch the temps the next couple days and see if there's any progress.

No problem. Cold temps can make P less available.

It may not apply to your situation, but the ph of water, particularly well water, can rise and fall with seasonal rains etc. If you haven't already, might want to check the ph of your water to make sure that's not a factor.

Pretty sure that’s a temperature thing. Cooler weather brings purpling and redning of the stems . Or so I’ve read .

Cold temps I think. I don't use heater and live in the UK, so see that often. Just warm the place up a bit and carry on.

Possible overwater issue if you had agnat problem. Im dealing with some shit that started with overwatering

The gnats popped up about 4 weeks ago, we've corrected the overwatering problem. I realized last night the pH may be an issue (I was taking it too far down)

The red stems, I read somewhere that can be originated from light intensity, it's normal, notice how the stems are red only in one side of the stems.
