Reduce Volume of Flood Table

Current I am just using my rockwool cubes alone in my flood table. I would like to use less water to fill my flood table, but I don't want to increase the work of getting it ready for the next round because it is a bitch to get myself in and out of my room let alone a flood table with or with out a bunch of hydroton in it.

I don't know the size of your table or the amount of plants in each table but what you need is something to dispalce your water volume. Something like small cement bricks. Just something that takes up space but won't move or float when the table is flooded.

How big is your room? My budding room is 8ft x 8ft x 8ft/h.

If you need to take up some volume in your table , just place a few soda bottles filled with water laying on their side inside the tray .

Very good suggestion dadio (+rep), but if the plastic soda bottles are to big you can apply the same principle with smaller containers like tupperware or any type storage containers that come in a variety of shapes and sizes that will fit between your plants.

If you don't want to use the clay gravel to fill in around your plants with lava rock. You can break up large pieces of lava rock for propane barbecues. It's off season right now so you might have to look around. Home hardware does carry it. I go to the recycling place and salvage the rock from barbecues.
