:dunce: Has anyone ever tried this? Had to go from a solo cup to shorter yet wider contaner. Roots are below soil, should it be ok? Had a pretty good root system less than an inch from the cup walls. Any hints on reducing stress. Am on a 12/12 from seed. ( yeah I know only transplant I am doing...)

Uhhh... as long as the stem is above the soil, i think you'll be just fine. I got an odd visual trying to imagine this at first, though.

Interesting. Only problem I see is that your root cluster will be mostly to one side of the pot. Leaving the opposite side free to hold water possibly too long and invite problems.

Or not.

If the roots dont bind on one side and grow into the soil completely I guess it would be a good idea. I am interested to see how it works out.

I do also ,but if I do have to, I make sure I LST and bend them alot so to avoid getting water logged root balls and soaked leaves

It's fine I think... Added a little heating pad under it because temps dropped to 69-70 and don't want it too cold at night. Found a muncher on my leaf from outside ate a little bit of leaf. Damn bastard ate a little of two of.em....
