Reservoir temperature (pictures inc.)

So from research I have ran into keeping the res temp around 68 degrees is optimal temp. For a few reasons

One is for optimal root growth the other is for algae and bacteria.

I have also ran into keeping the grow deck around 78 degrees.

Before I tried to control the temp in the res my deck was about 81 and my res fluctuated between about 78 to 85.

When I drop it to 68 my leafs droop down and touch my grow deck.

I know a lot are gonna say 'listen to your plant.' But I really don't want to cause problems with bacteria.

Am I putting my plant into shock dropping it that low and I should give it a few days to get used to it?

Or should I just continue with what I was doing??

Any input would be awesome!

Included two pictures you can see the change. The perky pic is from yesterday and the droopy one is from today.

I've seen some research that's say otherwise. I will try to find the link. 68 degree probably is more about keeping Res undercontrol and preventing root rot and water holding more do. I think of a plant as a cold blooded animal, it cannot generate its own body heat and temperature has a direct correlation to metabolism. I run hpa setup never.measured root temp but I bet its in the 80's. I also have a heater in the tent to keep night temps up. Plants have biological process running all the time. If its too cold it slows plant grow of course to hot is not good either. I'd say 75-82 would be optimum root temp and yes your dropping plant is telling you 68 is to cold.
