Revegging Vs. Cloning

Hello all,

I have a rubbermaid grow, with two plants using LST. They are currently on 24 hrs light. I could clone, but I have heard revegging works well. What do you guys think about this subject? Another plus of vegging is I wouldn't have to get a seperate container of a sort to veg the clones while I switch the lights in my rubbermaid to flowering.

Thanks

The name of the game is efficient use of lighting. Revegging can be done but is it worth it in the end. I think it can be a good tool if you want to make a mother out of a plant which has already flowered. Other than that, I just don't see the point.:bigjoint:

revegging can take up to aMONTH to start new growth , clones are much faster to root
Sounds like your doing hydro, you can still clone the plants now and by the time your harvesting this one you can have the next two already vegged and ready to go.

The trouble with revegging is that it can bring out a resessive hermi gene........some plants can do it all the time, others will freak out.......go with the clones....you can get a nursery tray, dome and flouro for about $20 and any shelf will work to put it on. Then you veg for the month you'd need to reveg and back to bloom..
My thought is that pure indicas could be revegged without problems, but anything crossed with an equatorial variety can have the hermi problem..... When you reveg a flowered plant to use as a mama, it'll have a lot more time as it changes back to veg, grows, clones root and are vegged before steessing them again with a light cycle change......the mama herself will never go to bloom.....
I also think the roots would be more prone to root rot the second time around, but it's just an assumption.....

I've revegged to save the genetics of a plant and cloned from blooming plants, so it's all possible.....just more likely to have trouble than taking clones from vegging plants......

OK, so I'm going to just clone verses reveg. Sounds like the pros of cloning really overwhelm the pros of revegging. Thanks everyone!
