The world’s oldest known spider has died at the age of 43, outliving its nearest rival by 15 years, Australian scientists have reported.

Affectionately known as “Number 16”, the female Giaus Villosus or trapdoor spider had been under observation in the wild since its birth in 1974.

We have those trapdoor spiders around here, and I can tell you from experience that them bitches are aggressive, they'll jump on your boot hump you like a small dog.

My aunt use to have one and it was an asshole. Absolutely hated my aunt and bit her anytime she got close, luckily it liked kids.

Is it venomous? I know most if not all tarantulas aren't but blue usually is a warning. Mixed messages make me wonder.

Don't think so. She's still looking around, those huge bird eating ones are real cool and we already have a tank.
