Rockwool cubes to germinate not wrapped ok or wrap them with something?10 bucket 600w

Hello guys,

First DWC Grow here going to attempt with 10 independent buckets. 600w HPS
3x liberty haze
3x hash plant haze
3x master kush
1x ice

Will be germinating in rockwool and this is how they came in the pics.

I will be doing the standard soak in my ph balanced solution and inserting the seeds into them that have been in

a shot glass in the dark warm area for 24 hours(placed 3 hours ago).

Question #1. Should I add a root stimulant to the water that I will be soaking my rockwool cubes? I have the following:

prop o gator 0-3-2. liquid
stim root. powder

Question #2
Should i apply a materia on the sides of the rockwool cubes or are they ok to sit in the tray like this after soak and seed is in place? Will it loose more water because of no material on the sides or is this ok?

This is my first DWC indoor and being located in a third world county sure does not help me acquire the needed equip I need. Heres my dilemma: NO NET POTS

10 bucket 600w. 3 week veg. Seeds are currently germinating and will be placed into rockwool cubes after 12-24 hours in distilled water to hydrate quicker

My answer: Skimmer basket from pool filter system a shown in pics. Measurement are as follows and pictures are included.(i will obviously be buying new ones, there are few diff sizes available also)

Diameter: 18cm OR 7.1"
Height: 8cm OR 3.1"
bottom diameter: 11.5cm OR 4.5"

Holes of the skimmer basket range from .2 to .4cm. Wil these be big enough?

Is this a viable sub to a net pot? Any better alternatives out there in a limited market? Even thought of using a pasta drain bowl(i know right...)

My buckets: ice cream containers from a local ice cream shop. (i will be duct taping these as they are a foggy white)

10L OR 2.63 Gallon
Diameter: 22cm OR 8.7"
Height: 29cm OR 11.4"

I will be cutting a circle in the lids in order to place the skimmer baskets or ALT into these.

Also since no hydroton I have purchased some expanded clay rocks also shown.

fab. I will be buying brand new ones for this. I just used that one to see if sizing was ok. Should I manuaaly make the holes a bit bigger with a cutter or do you think they are thick enough? that is my main dilema right now. Thank you.

Bigger one is rock lock and the other is a seed from a nug. 30L pots just transplated after these pics.

as we progress:

Do you think this pump will be enough for 10 buckets? Each bucket is 10 liter but will probly hold 8-9 while they are babies.
