Rockwool Tips?

Hey All,
Started my 1st dwc grow a couple of weeks ago. No problem cracking the seeds in the papertowel. But once I transplant the germinated seeds into the rockwool, and then put the rockwool into net cups with hydroton rocks...nothing sprouts. Correction, one of them did sprout and is doing well. But the 2 other seeds have done nothing.
I have dipped the rockwool in ph'd water (at 5.5) and quickly squeezed them out so that they get some air in there (before i put the seeds in). When in the system, the bottom of the net cups just barely touch the water in the system. How often should I be dipping these rockwool cubes in the ph'd water (re-wetting them)?

Are there any tips for starting them in rockwool that you all have run across? I've got a limited number of these autoflowering seeds and don't want to blow through anymore than I have to.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

No replies! C'mon now. You all are geniuses when it comes to this stuff. Anyone use rockwool anymore or is it just me?

No need to put then in pots so soon. Mine cracked in paper towel, put them in rockwool, sprouted 2 days ago and they are still only in the rockwool cube in a humidity dome. When i see roots sticking out then i will put them in pots. i also havent watered my cubes since a first presoaked them, you dont need a lot of water when they are that small. Another tip is you shouldnt squeeze rockwool, supposidly fucks up the inside so it doesnt hold air like it should, always shake them. Good luck

Cool. Thanks. Just looked up the humidity domes. Is there a DIY version of this? Seen these at my local hydro shop but they're like $45 (heated Germination Station). Can I just take some clear tupperware, drill a hole or 2 for fresh air, and use that?

To be honest after 6 growth I still have some problem with rockwool, but yours should be squeezing it and overwatering . Rockwool has %18 air in it . if you squeez them the air reduces , so you have a root and seed drown in water and no oxygen and here is the result. dont put your seed too deep , just a fem milimeter is enough. You dont need to use any source of light until they sproud .especially if the light make them too warm( which they are not prepare to get rid of the heat yet).

Good Luck
